Comite is a group at Joyce specifically created to facilitate advocacy from parents. The group focuses on capacity building so parents grow confidence in their ability to advocate. With specific attention directed at developing leadership skills, parents are equipped with the knowledge and tools to advocate for important change in their communities. Comite meetings are held in Spanish.
Joyce has other ways for parents to be involved and explore learning at Joyce Preschool, including:
- school tours
- orientation, Welcome Days
- classroom cultural celebrations
- school-choice informational meetings
- school-wide parent workshops in English and Spanish
