The temperature hovered around 10 degrees all Friday evening, but that didn’t stop the guests of Vino.Arte.Comunidad. from turning out in force to support local artists, enjoy some wine, and celebrate the work of the Joyce community.

We had a ton of things happening all evening, but there are a few favorite moments we definitely want to remember.IMG_8325

WHERE YOU WENT

The event’s first year at the American Swedish Institute, the consensus was that the venue was perhaps the best yet. While the long-time attenders miss the coziness of the Pillsbury Mansion, this year’s space gave guests space to socialize, bid, and …

WHEN IT WAS OVER

dance! DJ Jake Rudh was a smash hit, busting out 80s classics and projecting unforgettable music videos onto the big screen. The afterparty started at 10 and was scheduled until 11:30, but unstoppable dancers kept the party going until 11:50, when we had to book it out of the building.

WHAT YOU WORE

From hot red heels to matador-inspired glittered pants, the clothes were the talk of the evening. We were doubly impressed given the cold temps and the wind — even the coatroom was finely dressed (trench-coats and fur definitely made an impression).IMG_8290

WHY YOU DID IT

The evening’s proceeds supported Joyce Preschool’s scholarship fund, which ensures equal access to Joyce’s proven quality programming. Only 36% of Spanish-speakers arrive at kindergarten ready for school in Minneapolis, while 100% of Joyce Preschool graduates last year were prepared to succeed in kindergarten.

Thanks to all of you — whether you partied all night, donated your art, or volunteered helping set up during the day, you made a difference in the life of a preschooler. We can’t wait to do it all over again next year!
