Joyce’s first ever Homecoming celebrated our new home with the amazing community that made our program — and our expansion — possible! Homecoming was the perfect chance for us to express our gratitude to the wonderful individuals who’ve given their guidance and leadership to the Joyce community over the years.
New and past families, former teachers, board members, and some of the women who founded our preschool in the 1960s — when it was only a dozen children in the basement of Joyce United Methodist Church — all came to join in the celebration, and see the Joyce Preschool community that now serves over 100 families.
As we create new stories in our Park Avenue space, we were honored to invite our community to help us hold on to the history that made us what we are today. Sharing stories, making connections, and seeing generations of Joyce Preschool families — preschool graduates who are now teenagers! — in the same room keeps us a diverse, strong, thriving community.
Just because Homecoming is over doesn’t mean you can’t keep in touch with us! Come to Holiday Fiesta, join the party at Vino.Arte.Comunidad., or spend a few hours reading in the classroom. Your participation — your presence — is what makes our community great!
