Joyce Spanish Immersion at Whittier Elementary
An enrichment program for Whittier Elementary students
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
Through hands-on, contextual, fun lessons and activities, students engage with the Spanish language and Spanish-speaking culture. This hour-long program provides K-5 students with supportive, assets-based instruction. All students enrolled at Whittier Elementary are welcome to enroll in the program!
The focus of Joyce Spanish Immersion is on enriching the first hour of the students’ school day. No prior experience with Spanish language necessary!
Structured enrichment will include a welcome activity that includes children of all ages, as well as smaller groups that explore age-based and experience-based activities. The class broadly follows the curricular themes of the Whittier Spanish language department. This ensures that enrichment activities support and reinforce students’ Spanish lessons.
Joyce Spanish Immersion instructors are qualified, bilingual educators with years of experience in teaching.
