At the State Fair: Minnesota Community Pride Showcase Winners!

Joyce Preschool participated in the 2011 InCommons challenge and was selected as a winner of the Minnesota Community Pride Showcase! In the proposal, Joyce described how its diverse team of volunteers strengthens our literacy work with the children. To read our winning entry, click here.

As a winner of the challenge, Joyce was awarded $500, a beautiful wooden plaque, and a silver Minnesota state medallion. Additionally, we were given the opportunity to staff a table and participate in the daily parade at the Minnesota State Fair on Saturday, September 3rd. Staff members Sarah Clyne, Laura Tompkins, Deborah Jahn, Sandra Lepez, Natalie Ehalt, and Riana Dilley represented Joyce at the fair. Thanks to all who stopped by to say hi! Executive Director Sarah Clyne appeared on WCCO's six o'clock news that evening.
